GOODIES - Diamond Pinata

diamond piñata

Over 400 years ago piñatas were used for celebrating a good harvest. Today, they are made from paper materials and used as entertainment for various occasions. Piñata treats represent good wishes. It is believed that the person who breaks the piñata will have good luck through the coming year.

Our new glamorous party Piñata is comparable to a glittering disco ball. Look for the hidden opening, press the clear sticker on the piñata and fill this diamond shaped, metallic silver Piñata with confetti, sweets and small toys. Hang from a sturdy support and take turns hitting the piñata until the goodies fall out.

IN GOOD HANDS - Washi Tape Wednesday

washi wall backdrop

It's Washi tape Wednesday and we found a great idea from Martha Stewart Weddings. Here they used flagging tape but Washi tape would work just as well to make a photo booth backdrop. Perfect for a party and I also think a good idea to decorate a room on a budget or for the background of your Christmas card! (yes! I said it "Christmas!").

GOOD LOOKS - Halloween is Here

haunted house

Halloween is "in the house"! And pretty creepy stuff indeed. My favourite is the Haunted House centrepiece. I just finished making one to display in the shop and it is pretty amazing if I say so myself. It even has a little mini side table in the bedroom that lights up! It is really easy to make and is a great price of 24CHF - and your kids could even make it up as a little Halloween party activity.

GOODIES - Pick up Sticks

pick up sticks

The game of Pick Up Sticks is believed to have originated in 12th Century China, sticks were used to make predictions, thrown down on a table and read in a similar way to Rune stones.

The name Pick Up Sticks may have come from this children's nursery rhyme:
One, two, buckle my shoe,
Three, four, shut the door
Five, six, pick-up sticks
Seven, eight, lay them straight,
Nine, ten, a big fat hen!
